I feel lucky to be able to live in Manistique and also to have been able to work in two different fields, broadcasting and movie theatres. I met a lot of great people when I had the theatres, and now I get to talk with the listeners on WTIQ. One of the most often asked questions I get is what does the "L" stand for in my name. I normally say not a "L of a lot", but really back in 1969 Michelle Lee had a top ten hit out called L DAVID SLOAN, and with three people named David working at the station, I got the L for identification. And it is just L no period; Not AL and not EL. That's my Spanish cousin. PS I will do requests, so if there is a song you want to hear, call me at 341-1490 and if we have it we'll give it a spin.

Radio Background:
My Radio History I started in radio at WTIQ one week after graduation in 1967 and have been "ON THE AIR" off and on since then. I have been lucky to adapt to the changes in broadcasting in the past 33 years, having gone from playing 45 rpm records, (a black object the size of a pancake with a hole in the middle) to playing commercials on carts (a device that resembles an old 8 track tape), to having all commercials and music on a computer hard drive.

Favorite Foods
I will have to say Frito Scoops. Those big chips are great especially when you have our neighbor Alison's shrimp or chicken dip.

Least Liked Foods
L I V E R!!!!!! YUK. Do you know what those things do?

Favorite Movie of all time

I have two movies that I just can't get enough of. AMERICAN GRAFFITTI which my wife Becky will not let me watch if she is in the house,(I say the dialog before the actors do) and MR. HOLLAND'S OPUS.(I had a band director that was a big influence on my life much like Mr. Holland.)

Favorite TV show
EMERGENCY! Thank heaven for TVLAND.

Favorite Restaurant
Clyde's Drive In. Being stuck in the 60's, there is nothing like a big ol cheeseburger and frys from Clyde's. And if your looking for a change, try the steak basket it's GREAT!

Most annoying thing that I do
Put off until the last minute doing a project my wife wants me to do. Also note, she does not have my password to this site, if she did we would be here for days!

Best vacation spot that I'd recommend
The GRAND CANYON is a big hole, MT RUSHMORE was a long ride to stare at something that did not move, kind of like what happens when someone brings out a video camera.....everyone freezes. So I guess it would be BRANSON. Great theatres, tons of talent, and IT AIN'T ALL COUNTRY....THEY DO GOOD OLD ROCK AND ROLL TOO!

Best Concert I've ever attended
Frankie Vallie and the 4 Seasons.

Favorite comic
He left us way to soon, the great John Candy.
