He is known as "THAT CRUSTY, CRANKY,CANTANKEROUS, CONCEITED, CONTRARY CONVICTED SCOFFLAW- CRIMINAL FROM CORNELL....THE MAN WHO'S NEVER AFRAID TO TELL IT LIKE HE THINKS IT IS...THE MOST OUTSPOKEN SPORTSMAN AROUND...BILL MOORE!!
Yes, that discription pretty well sums up what Bill Moore is all about! Truly the consumate outdoorsman, Bill's love of the wilderness began at a very early age. he recalls, "There wasn't much money around our place for toys when I was a kid. My parents both worked away all day and as an only child I was left pretty much on my own for most of the time. The woods around our house became my major source of entertainment. As early as six years of age I was already woodsrunning with my dog! I guess you could say that I had Mother Nature as my baby-sitter."
And his passion for the out-of-doors continues to this day. In addition to the thousands of leisure hours he has spent afield, he has at one time or another made all or a part of his living in the outdoors as a Great Lakes charter boat captain and big game hunting and fishing guide both here and in Canada. He has also owned and operated hunting and fishing lodges both in Canada and the U.S. For several years his popular "Moore Outdoors" television show was enjoyed by vewers across the state of Michigan. He is the author of a best selling book entitled "I'm Mad As Hell And I'm Not Going To Take It Anymore!" (The book the DNR never wanted anybody to write!) He is in the process of putting the finishing touches on his next two books which are titled, 'Bovine TB... The Great Lie!" and "Deer Camp...(and other delightful outdoor experiences in self control!)
Bill's "Outspoken Sportsman" radio show is truly a one-of-a-kind proposition. This four hour, call-in talk show has become the most popular audience participation radio experience to be found anywhere in the Upper Peninsula and has resulted in Bill being regarded by many of his listeners as the "Rush Limbaugh" of the outdoors. This is truly an award winning radio show in that Bill regularly receives commendations of appreciation and merit from various outdoors, veterans and wildlife organizations.
He proudly brings to the table over thirty years of broadcasting expereience having previously worked in both AM and FM radio as well as television.
Each week he expertly combines his wit and humor with biting, satirical commentary and scathing attacks against those he perceives to be the enemies of the individual sportsperson. Some of the many issues he addresses on a weekly basis include the utter uselessness of the Natural Resources Commission...the abrasive cruelty and stupidity directed against the license buying, general sporting public by DNR law enforcement officers...the monumental failures of the vast majority of wildlife programs engaged in by various DNR wlldlife departments...the many deceptions and outright lies foisted on the general public by top DNR officials and the blatent, anti property owner, anti people agenda of the Department of Environmental Quality. Animal rights...gun control...,hunting and fishing facts and anything else having to do the with regaining of a quality outdoor experience for ourselves and our children are the things Bill concerns himself with each Saturday morning from 8:00 to 12:00 noon. And each week Bill's special guests, the live, listener phone calls combined with his own insight and factual information dealing with the various issues discussed, truly make for "radio with the bark still on!"
Suffice to say that each and every Saturday morning from 8:00 to 12:00 noon, Bill draws his weekly line in the sand and invites the very bureaucrats he constantly does battle with to take that fatal step over if they dare. He is truly the "voice for the little guy or girl sportsperson"...the Jane or John Doe outdoors lover who up until now had no one to speak up for them. And now folks from just about anywhere can hear the weeky show in real time by logging on to Bill's streaming address which is RRNSports.com...click on the "live/local" icon that will appear, turn up your computor speakers and prepare to be entertained, educated, informed and at times angered, frustrated and astounded by what you will hear. So this is what Bill Moore and "The Outspoken Sportsman is all about. We are sure that you will find his approach to talk radio to be professional, informative, humerous, addictive but with weekly, major doses of confrontational reality just not found in today's plethora of largely uninspired, generic "can't we all just try to get along" outdoor radio show offerings.
It's Bill Moore's "Outspoken Sportsman!"
It's what the little guy wants to listen to!
